The Huml family  needs our help!

Tony was diagnosed with cancer about 6 years ago. At the time he was diagnosed he was given about 2 years to live due to the location of the disease in his chest area. As he fought the disease with a clean diet/healthy lifestyle the disease stayed at bay. Growth was extremely slow for years.

This past year the growth pace increased. For the first time since the diagnosis they needed to formally treat it. They met with numerous doctors/specialists to see what the options were. Originally they were told that surgery would not be a viable option. Just too risky. After meeting with the doctors/specialists this time around they felt like it was. Very exciting news for the family.

Surgery this past fall was a success. They were able to get 80% of the disease removed. While successful, it was also quite invasive. His chest was opened up and they removed about a grapefruit's size worth of cancer from his chest area.

Recovery was estimated at 3 months with very limited physical movement so his chest could heal properly. After that recovery period the plan was to then see where things were at growth-wise with the disease and treat it from there if needed.

A few weeks after the surgery they were told that the cancer was growing too fast. There was no spreading of the disease, but the tumors that were remaining after surgery were growing rapidly. They needed to do more right away. He began radiation therapy soon thereafter.

Their original plan was for Tony to return to video editing for Breakthrough Basketball a month after surgery (Doctor approved). After the full 3 months of recovery from surgery he was planning on returning to his love/passion - training youth basketball players through his company Close the Gate Hoops. Due to the need to move forward with radiation unexpectedly so soon after surgery he hasn't been able to return to work at all and they are unsure of when he'll be able to at this point.

Tony is a man of great faith, integrity, passion, and kindness. He is a wonderful father, husband, son, friend, mentor, etc... His positive outlook on life is infectious. He lives his life as his message and it's a message that spreads to anyone he's around. He loves his family dearly. He has given so much to so many. It's time we all give back to him. To help him and his wife Jen, his son Jack, and his two daughters Kate and Liz get through this with full support from all those who love and care about them. To help them focus on family and Tony's recovery and not have to worry about bills/money.

Please help. Please do what you can. Anything helps. If we can reach 1000 people at an average of $70 per donation we reach this goal. Let's not just reach it, let's blow by it.
