Going on a mission trip has been a passion of mine. I have felt a tug in my heart to go and help to make a difference in the lives of other people.
I have been accepted to go this year, to Honduras, with Humanity and Hope. The trip leaves May 12th. Humanity & Hope United was born in 2010 to help people overcome challenges and grow to become their best selves. They work with villages in a number of areas throughout Honduras, focusing not on issues but people. They believe that opportunity creates opportunity, so they focus the majority of their time and resources on empowering the people they serve. I am honoured to be joining their team on what I hope to be the first of many trips.
Each trip is different with a focus on different projects. These projects could include: Painting homes, painting school buildings, building homes, fences and sheds, meet with students in the education program and more. I have no doubt that this will be the most amazing experience in my life. I know I have a calling to do something bigger and to help people and this is the perfect foundation!
I am humbled to ask for help, which is something I find difficult. The trip itself cost $900 US plus flights to and from Honduras. If there is any excess funds, those will go directly to Humanity and Hope. *Update: Flight prices went up, so I had to increase from $1800-2100*
I would be forever grateful if you could help make my dream come true. The support, the love, the prayers are all so greatly appreciated. Any size donation helps put me one step closer fulfill my dream and to help those in need. The payment deadline is by April 15th. If you would like a tax receipt, and have US income, you can put money towards the trip directly on Humanity and Hope's website here . Keep in mind - it will be in USD :). They just ask that you make sure to note that the donation is in honor of Mikaela Karram's May trip.
