Humanitarian Aid to Beirut

On August 4, an explosion devastated Beirut, Lebanon. At least 200 people were killed and 7,000 injured, with 300,000 people now homeless. Many were already unable to afford basic necessities before the explosion due to the country’s worst financial crisis in decades. The government of Lebanon is doing nothing to help. People affected by the Beirut explosion are in desperate need of immediate food and medical provisions.

In Armenia, a grassroots initiative called United Armenian Relief has been established by the Armenian youth, dedicated to providing humanitarian aid directly to impacted communities in Beirut.

I am a diasporan Armenian from the U.S. living in Yerevan, Armenia. I am working directly with United Armenian Relief to raise as many funds as possible for supplies for victims of the explosion. All purchases are 100% transparent. Upon obtaining the supplies, United Armenian Relief will package and send them via a partnering airline (Middle East Airlines), where they will be distributed to Lebanese and Armenian communities through the local NGO Bonheur de Ciel

A little truly does go a long way. United Armenian Relief has an arrangement with Carrefour supermarket in Armenia, where the store is selling us 1 box of food (enough for 1 household) for $10.

Updates to come with photos of the supplies being shipped and received!
