A second chance for Reyna

I've ended donations to finalize the expenses.

Because of everyone's generosity, we were able to tackle the the expenses as a team. The most important part is that Reyna is recovering very well. Since the surgery, she's had zero seizures and is starting to act more like herself again. When she's fully recovered, we will try our best to make sure she meets all of you.

I want to be as transparent as possible with the funds. Minus the gofundme withdrawal fee, 100% of your contributions went towards Reyna's expenses. Donations as a whole (through gofundme and personal contributions) reduced the overall cost of $11,025.27 to almost half.

Thank you all!!

Hello,

This fundraiser is for the emergency care, surgery and recovery for our lovely Siberian Husky Reyna. Reyna is our 6yo female Husky. She’s super friendly and exceptionally well with people.. loves to be lazy and will do anything for food.. loves her walks and will chase anything and everything. She just loves being a pup.

Unfortunately, on March 27th we noticed a symptom that would change everything. She had a seizure. At first, we thought it was a one time thing as it ceased the next day. However, it would return in the following days and become more severe. Other visible symptoms included disorientation and fatigue, panting, increased water consumption and loss of appetite. Additionally, she was having constant tremors and had an uncontrollable bladder - urinating without warning and vomitting. All of this happened suddenly.. and prior to March 27th, she appeared fine. Days go by and after a series of visits to our local vet and local emergency vet, we had to transfer her to the ICU at UC Davis Veterinary School for the best care she can receive.

This fundraiser is to raise money to assist with out-of-pocket expenses (she doesn’t have insurance). Having a pet go through overnights in the ICU, numerous diagnostic tests, surgery and recovery can easily add up to uncomfortable numbers. I've set a goal of $8,000.00 which covers a portion of the total. If you have questions regarding the low and high estimates provided to me, please contact me directly and I can provide documentation.

Tests reveal that she has very low blood sugar, a very high enzyme count and a growth in her liver, and unusually high blood pressure. As of now, they've been able to lower her blood pressure to a more acceptable level, but her blood sugar is constantly low. When her seizures do happen, an increase in blood sugar seems to be helping.

The surgery is to reduce the growth in her liver to see if it betters her symptoms.

The hope is that these levels balance post-surgery.  Thank you all for your support on behalf of my family. We will be forever grateful for any amount of donations received, but at this time we just wish for a positive sign in health for Reyna.

— A Message From Reyna’s Mother (Tracy)
Just last month we lost our oldest pup, Ivory. Many of you knew the trauma it brought to our lives and continues to effect our daily routine. Ivory also did not have medical insurance and there’s not one day that passes where I wished I had done more. I still believe that Reyna isn’t ready to be with her sister Ivory.

I thank you in advance for any contributions, the support and strength you have passed on to our family.

Thank you,
Allan and Tracy
