A man died in a house fire early Friday morning (1/5/18) in Gary IN. Authorities did identify the deceased 57-year as Jeff Huff SR.
The Gary Police Department responded to a call to the 2600 block of Stevenson Street in the city's Black Oak neighborhood at 4:45 a.m. Friday. Upon arriving at the location officers were notified by Gary Fire Department personnel of a fire fatality at that location," the Gary Police Department said in a press release. "The victim, a man, age 57, was discovered inside a single-dwelling residence."
Jeff Huff SR, lived in the house with his 20 yr old son Jeffrey Huff JR, who was not home at the time of the fire, he has not only lost his father in the fire, he lost everything he owed, we are asking anyone who is able to help, please help his son and his family. The Lake County Coroner's Office reported that the cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy. Investigators with the Gary Fire Department, the Indiana State Fire Marshall’s office, and the Gary Police Department are looking into the cause of the blaze but preliminary indications suggest it was accidental.
