Pepperell Community Arts is a new non-profit group aimed at making the Arts family friendly, affordable and accessible to the local community. PCA's vision includes having a permanent Community Arts location in Pepperell which can eventually become a hub for artists and craftsmen; including, but limited to, musicians, dancers, actors, artists, photographers, quilters/crafters, bakers, gardeners and more! PCA wants to keep local talent close to home, attract artists from surrounding towns, and produce events that can easily be attended by all our local residents, including young families and the elderly. PCA hopes having easier access to all kinds of high quality arts will inspire young people to greater heights, add to the quality of life for older folks, and bring a sense of identity and pride to the greater Pepperell area. Pepperell Community Arts also plans to give back through donations and service.
Our initial focus is on youth theater. Theater is a wonderful way to involve kids of all interests/abilities, and boosts confidence, skills, and friendships. It's fun, offers a positive outlet for talents, offers an alternative to video games, and teaches kids to serve others with their gifts.
The first official PCA event, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, (in October 2017), raised over $300 for Hurricane Victims in Texas. We charged no admission fee to make it accessible to anyone who wanted to attend (thanks to Community Church of Pepperell for providing our venue!). The seven kids involved strengthed skills, grew friendships, and HAD FUN, all while staying right here in town!
Our next production, the musical version of, Little Women, has a cast of 22 local youth in it! This runs February 16-17 at the Peter Fitzpatrick School on Main Street. This delightful show will warm your heart. Come support these talented teens! Tickets are only $5 in order to be accessible to as many as possible.

Producing these wonderful shows requires a lot of resources. Because PCA is brand new, there is an immediate need for funds to secure performance rights and music, cover insurance policies, obtain sound/lighting equipment, costumes, sets and props, funds to hire choreographers and technicians for shows, and funds for rehearsal/performance space (dreaming of having a building in Pepperell someday!).
Pepperell Community Arts is up and running, but we urgently need financial support to truly get established. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated! Our Story:
Four years ago, PCA founder Stacey Thompson and her family moved to beautiful Pepperell, Mass. The pristine natural beauty of Pepperell combined with warm, welcoming people and affordable housing made Pepperell the perfect fit. But something else attracted them as well. The strong music program in North Middlesex Regional School District meant they could continue their love of choir, band and musical theater.
It was soon apparent that this region of small town America was bursting with an amazing natural resource: Artsits! From singers to dancers, actors to instrumentalists, designers to artisans, there seemed to be no end to the ability, creativity and yet humility of the people in the Pepperell Community.
As Stacey saw her kids interact with skilled musicians and artists of all types and ages, she learned that many of them travel out of town to perform and share their talents. Driving to Nashua, Groton, Littleton or even Boston appeared to be the norm. But taking their talents out of town meant that local folks (who can't travel easily) were missing out on great performances. And, for those with young children or teens who wanted their kids to participate in performing groups, they had to drive quite a distance and pay big fees. In some cases, the cost was prohibitive for local families.
Contemplating these things, and pondering her own passion for arts, Stacey felt inspired to create a local non-profit entity, for artists of all types, based right in Pepperell (with surrounding towns whole-heartedly invited to join as well)!
Thus, Pepperell Community Arts was born! Board meetings began and continue to be held at Pepperell Lawrence Library (thank you Lawrence Library!).
In the future, PCA plans to add other aspects of art such as, choir, orchestra, visual arts, dance, and even handmade crafts, to their theater initiative.
