Thank you for visiting the David Valerio Memorial Fund. David was just 16 years old and a resident of Mission Viejo. On Monday November 24th, he was riding his skateboard on Trabuco and Cherry. He lost control of the board and it went onto Trabuco. He went after the board and was struck by a car. He was rushed to Mission Hospital where he died of his injuries.
David was many things a bright young man, a future Marine, a Skateboarder and a friend.
During a candle vigil where many skateboarders road up to pay tribute to these young man, many would say that David always wanted everyone to be happy and would always be found with a smile on his face.
He died doing what he loved skateboarding, many teens that attended came from Mission Viejo High, El Toro High, Trabuco High, Silverado High and the Access Program. This showed all the results of being kind, David was surrounded by many because he cared and loved everyone.
A 14 year old friend Felix Murillo and fellow skateboarder said it best "We are his family to". Yes David was part of an amazing skateboard family as more than 100 kids in that family showed their support.
Murillo also said he and others would continue to ride as David would want it that way.
No parent should have to bury their child and the cost of this expense should be the last thing a family should have to worry about. Please help us to cover the cost for this family. Every donations helps.
