Bad things happen to good people

My dad is a PROUD person and is going to be extremely upset when he hears about what our family is doing for him.

He recently lost his job and career of 33 years in an industry that he LOVED and DEDICATED his life to. The honesty and integrity he brought to his work. The relationships he developed, unfortunately at this time, that is all Past History.

The fact that Dad ALWAYS put himself last when it came to friends in need and our own family unit.

For those of you that know DAD, he is loyal and dedicated and unfortunate circumstances that many people have experienced have also came to plague my dad.

Like many we know and as a victim of the Housing Bust and refinance era back in the mid 2000’s unfortunately debt and the loss of his job has put a giant burden on his finances and his personal ego. Failure has never been an option in Dads world, but now the loss of his job and no rebound in sight, failure and embarrassment is a tough pill to swallow. My dad is NOT A FAILURE but a remarkable and intelligent man….JUST HITTING BAD TIMES.

As a proud man he was the first to always be there to help, whether extended hours at work, needs of his children and wife or whatever opportunity he had to help others?

Dad spent 6 years of his life in the Armed Forces and over 25 years with the Local volunteer Fire Dept and always has stories about his Fire Department days and still carries his FD Badge as a constant reminder of those times.

Dedication and passion to his work is what makes him especially SPECIAL to all of us.

Not to mention that those closest to dad know that almost every medical condition known to man has hit dad one way or another and now with his medical coverage that expired 3 days after he lost his job new medical challenges are now upon us. The total amount of surgeries he still needs total up to around $150,000+. For each surgery he needs done will put him out of commission for 6 months!

Dad has always been a giver and not a taker; always the first to offer to pick up the tab. He is extremely humbling and full of great stories hence why he will be upset with us, for putting this gofundme page together.

So with all that being said, I believe gofundme is a godsend for certain situations. When someone gets hit with a huge life blow like this, and isn't sure how they are going to get by in the upcoming months. I don't know what other options but to ask and reach out to friends and family for help. Even if you can't afford a huge donation, a bunch of little ones could make a difference. Even a prayer or sharing this page would go a long way.

Help us get Dad back in the groove again and have faith in his family, friends, and strangers that are willing to support him in this very difficult time

Roberts Family
