Ancestral Wine Project

Donation protected

Hello beautiful people and friends!

I'm Riccardo. Welcome to my campaign.

My goal is to make my own wine, using ancient techniques, which involve the use of clay amphoras, kept buried underground.
Wild yeast fermentation, long skin contact, no chemicals nor filtrations. Just pure grapes wine.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

I am so grateful for the support you already gave me.

Thanks to your donations, I’ve been able to buy:
-two beautiful Tinajas (clay amphoras from spain) for the total capacity of 600 liters

-two small amphoras from Iran (purchased locally from an antique trader), 55/60 liters capacity each

-two fiberglass tanks and two stainless steel tanks, all of 400 liters each (to be used for wine transfers, and eventual experiments)

WHAT WE WILL DO NEXT

There are few things left to do, for which I will need your support.
Next expenses will be:

-paying the ceramist/restorer who is helping me cleaning and fixing the amphoras

-creating the little “cellar” that will host the amphoras (building walls and a roof, plus digging a hole deep enough to bury them up to the neck)

If I reach a sufficient amount, I will buy brand new amphoras from Tuscany or directly from Georgia, so I will experiment with different clays/producers, and have a clearer picture of what I need, for the years to come.

REWARDS

I will be very happy to secure to all of you one or more bottles of wine, when it’s ready!

Approximately you will get one bottle for every 10 euros donated.

For the contributors in Italy and Europe, we will arrange a shipment method.
For all the others around the world, I will keep the bottles for you until you will come here for a visit!

FURTHER INFORMATIONS

In January, when I started this fundraise, I didn't know what was about to come. I was alone and had one dream.

This dream is starting to come to life, as I met, when I came back to my homeland, the beautiful people of Contrada Serulla. Our intentions matched, and right away we found our first little vineyard to take care of. The project will develop with the joint forces of me and Bruno and Nicoletta, and of all the people that will join us in the future.

Contrada Serulla produces organic vegetables and transformed products such as flour, biscuits, jams, dried fruits and tomato sauce.

Please check them out here: Contrada Serulla

This place is where the amphoras will be installed!
