Peter’s Recovery

Hello, my name is Ashlea Tran and I’m fundraising to help Peter’s recovery (my dad). Peter had to go to the hospital January 12th, because something was wrong and he wasn’t himself. He ended up needing emergency surgery on his brain shunt in Regina, and has been in Regina since. In 24 days, Peter has had 5 Surgeries to try and get the shunt to properly drain the excess fluid in his brain. He actually had to get a second shunt last week (a shunt on each side of his brain) and we hope it is his last surgery. Going back and forth to Regina for the last 3 weeks has been adding up… With the cost of gas, food, bills, possible rehabilitation, and moving to a better house suited for my dad. Peter has been through a lot within 57 years of living. 2 brain tumours, multiple brain shunt replacements, loosing his left arm due to flesh eating disease, and so much more. He is a cat with 9 lives!!! Throughout it all my dad has remained so strong with a “Smile On” his face, and having an optimistic outlook on life. It doesn’t matter what Peter is going through, because he will try to put a smile on his face and yours. WHERE DOES “SO = SMILE ON” COME FROM? After Peter’s brain tumours, he was told he wasn’t going to be able to smile again. He actually went to physiotherapy to learn how to smile again, after brain surgery almost 18 years ago. Since then his attitude has been “If you can’t control it, why worry about it! SO? Smile On.” I am thinking of many different ways to ease the costs of this very stressful time.
