Okay so that you all for even opening this link.
I wanna start off by introducing myself I’m Katie A Lankford (Gracie’s oldest sister) I received the most horrifying text any sister or family member can recieve at 4:08 p.m Tuesday June 21st 2022!
I got a text that things were bad and not looking good that Amber Whitaker ( my 2 sisters mom) had nodded off behind the wheel and wrecked into a big truck and my little 3yr old sister was fighting for her life. I dropped so many emotions took over and hit my soul. I dropped everything left work and headed to Brenners to find out that my sister was on life support and could forever be paralyzed from the neck down.
Gracie has been fighting since day one, day 2 looked scary (we lost her twice), day 3 went well everything seems to be progressing from day 2, day 4 she came off 2 meds and her vitals are Out of the roof amazing for the circumstances so I know my baby is still in there and God is performing miricales.
Gracie is looking like she’s gonna be paralyzed neck down internally and externally, as of rn she’s not using the bathroom on her own, she’s super awollen, she’s getting a trank put in her throat so help breath, along with a feeding tube. There’s a lot of things me and daddy are having to learn and know. There’s things this baby is going through that no baby should have to go thorugh exspecailly at the hands of her own momma bc her own momma couldn’t stop chasing that high and now she’s costed one mother her daughters life and her son pain. Cause her OWN daughters to be traumatized forever. Caused my poor Gracie to never live the life she dreamed up. My little ball player may never get the chance to play ball (and man does she have an arm/foot). Cussed them both to loose their 8 yr old bsf friend and most of all caused my rosey (4 yr old) to almost loose her bsf but also caused her to grow up bc she’s now gotta understand why her bsf can’t do everything she could the last time she saw her. Rosey misses her bsf and we all miss our babygirl.
I’m creating this go fund me because a lot of people have ask how they can help in this difficult time and regaurdless of how many times we say we are okay they insist.
My father is now currently gonna be unemployed and have a full handicap child with that things are gonna get exspensive, gas isn’t cheap, my dads lively hood is his tree business that now is looking he gonna have to sell. My dad and I are not the types to ask for anything and I’ve had people begging me to create this since day one but just wasn’t comfortable. Daddy is having to stay at the hospital around the clock with my fat mommas, he also has my other sister who is 4 and takes care of his momma my gma full time, bills are alreayd starting to come in and im just trying to help him ease his mind..
All money will go to Food, bills, gas back and fourth, and anything necassry for our time of need rn.. The money will not be used on anything other than what’s stated.
UPDATE:
Gracie was rushed into emergency surgery June 27th at 12:30 p.m to find out her colon and instestine were leaking poison into her and killing her. They removed parts of her color and instestine and left her stomach open with a sponge to suck all the nasty out. We lost my sister a total of 3-5 time between last night June 26th and morning of June 27th. As of now after the longest 5.5 hrs of my life she’s doing good, she’s stable and had a great night.. We are continuing to ask for prayers. We are praying now that with the times she lost oxygen to her brain that it didn’t cause no damage and we still have my beautiful baby in there.

As of August 22 2022 Gracie is still fighting strong.
She now has a pace maker, Her trach, her g tube, her colostomy bag and getting ready to switch her to a home ventilator. Gracie is still Hospitalized and will be for awhile. My father has now started looking for a Home to get transitioned to and start preparing for Gracie to come home. (Which is still not anytime soon but need to be prepared as they have no home anymore due to the events that have happend). Tank has been moved to charolette and is now back at Brenners but will be back in charolette b4 we get to come home.
Life has not gotten any easier only harder, as finances are hard…. Bills still come but money is slow… We have a 5 yr old (rosey) that starting school very soon. My dad has a storage unit with everything they own in there but the bill is coming up and he scare he gonna loose everything, my phone is currently off due to the bill wasn’t paid. Please if u can’t help just continue to pray for our little Gracie as she is a warrior..
