House Fire Recovery for The Scott Family

On Monday morning, March 29th, 2021, Rebecca Scott woke up to her pet warning her of something going on. She then discovered that a fire had started in their laundry room and it was continuing to grow. She gathered her pets and her 9 year old daughter as she called 911 and exited the house. While the damage remained somewhat localized, the house was deemed unlivable until repairs were made, displacing them to a local hotel for at least a month. Mrs Scott, her husband (who was at work when the fire occurred) and her daughter left their home with only the clothes on their back and will have to replace everything during their hotel stay. While the hotel did make arrangements to house some of their pets, others had to go into boarding. Thankfully, they have homeowners insurance that will reimburse some of the expenses but the timeline for when they will do that is unknown.

Living in a one bedroom hotel room is going to be rough, especially on their 9 year old daughter who is used to having her own room and no longer has any of the toys and books she used to entertain herself with. That being said, the family are very grateful for all the help they have received in such a short time, as well as the outpouring of support and love from friends, family and strangers.

Today we are asking to raise $5,000 to help with the day to day expenses (food, toiletries, clothing, pet boarding, etc..) as well as to replace items lost in the fire, many of which belonged to their young daughter.
