Hottie/Retired Marine IED Bomb Dog

Donation protected
"In August 2008 Chais became a member of our armed services as a marine. He served our country from August 2008 to August of 2012. In 2011 Chais met who would become his IED bomb sniffing partner, companion, and fellow Marine for the first time in South Carolina for IED bomb sniffing training. Hottie is her name, she is a black lab that has served with Chais who was he first handler. They went on their first deployment together in Afghanistan that year for 7 months. It was Chais' 2nd deployment in Afghanistan & Hottie's first. Hottie had 2 confirmed IED finds while on the tour, which could've saved the lives of Chais & several of his brothers from the Marine Corps. Chais was discharged from the Marine Corps in 2012 as Lance Corporal. Hottie did another deployment with a Marine that is unknown at this time. Chais was contacted 3 years from their deployment, that Hottie was being retired as a Sergeant and would be available for adoption. Since Chais was her first handler he had first choice, which was a no brainer. He traveled to North Carolina that August to be reunited, it was like the 2 were never separated. Hottie has completed Chais and his family and has been forever spoiled for her service.
She is the best big "sissy" to Chais' 2 1/2 year old son and has been the best protector of him as well. Hottie turned 8 this year and has become ill the past month. What they thought was bloat problems turned into, pneumonia & esophagus issues, possible mega esophagus. Today July 28th, 2017, we found out she has huge masses in her lungs. The doctors are wanting to run deeper tests to help get to the bottom of things and find a treatment for sweet Hottie girl. Hottie has been through war but cancer will be her biggest battle yet. She will not go down without a fight and we will be fighting beside her the whole way. Hottie needs prayers and financial support to continue through this. These 2 marines have a bond like no other. Hottie is more than just a dog, she is a hero, and fellow Marine. She saved many lives, we have no choice but to save hers, and to give her the treatment and respect she deserves"
