UPDATE MARCH 2019:
Emily finished six rounds of chemo like a champ, with early scans showing slight reductions in her breast, liver and hip bone, but the masses were still present in all three areas. Under advisement from her fabulous and trusted doctor in Atlanta, she has continued daily medication to allow time for the chemotherapy to further impact the cancer.
Emily and Rob are currently in Atlanta for the first round of scans in months, and they meet with doctors to discuss further treatment and next steps on Friday, March 16. Please pray for miraculous results and continued reduction and no further spreading of this terrible disease.
Emily is SO STRONG and her beautiful hair (and lashes - yay!) are growing back in with the cutest pixie cut that her sweet son Robert is begging her to keep. Her word of the year is “not today,” so let’s all lift them up to show them that we will NOT let this negative situation hold her down!
In late May of 2018, Emily Horton was diagnosed with breast cancer. Right before she was set to begin treatment, scans showed that the cancer had metastasized to her liver and to her hip bone.
For those of you that know Emily, you know what a bright light she is, and her light is shining even brighter through this journey as she has maintained such strength and peace through this process.
In addition to the mounting medical bills associated with Emily’s treatment and travels, there are many fixed costs for this entrepreneurial family as their primary income comes from their time spent serving their long time customer base with the hair salon they own together, Rob’s at Drayton Tower.
Rob and Emily have two beautiful kids, Robert (10) and Reynolds (8), and they have significant childcare costs with spending every bit of free time working in the salon or going to Emily’s treatments.
Please consider supporting this amazing family to alleviate their financial concerns so they can focus on being together during this difficult time? Any amount big or small will help!
