Horchata’s Recovery Fund

Horchata is our beloved resident emotional support animal at the mental health and substance abuse facility that I work at. We offer housing and treatment for individuals struggling with dual diagnoses. Horchata has been an honorary counselor and snuggle specialist since he wandered into our backyard and contributes profoundly to the healing and care that occurs at our facility.  He recently suffered a trauma that left his chest filled with fluid and in life threatening condition. This requires special veterinary care which costs more than we as a facility can offer. Horchata’s prognosis is unknown but we owe it to him to exhaust all our options. It would mean the world to all of us who work and live with Horchata to give him the best care possible.
