Hopkins Fire Chief Jimmy Scanlon Family Benefit

Chief Scanlon suffered a tragic, line-of-duty cardiac emergency on November 3rd, 2022. Despite the best and most extensive efforts of first arriving Edina paramedics and the staff at both Fairview Southdale Hospital and Fairview University of Minnesota Hospital, he was pronounced dead on the morning of November 4th, 2022.

Chief Scanlon was well known in the metro area as the current Chief of the Hopkins Chemical Assessment Team, serving all of Hennepin County and many communities to the west. His prior experience as a Hopkins Dispatcher, Hopkins Police CSO, and Bloomington Dispatcher helped broaden his reach as a dedicated public safety servant.

Chief Scanlon is survived by his wife, Kat and their four children. All funds raised will go directly to the family of Chief Scanlon.
