Tips For Hop Grenade Employees

As you all surely know, and have also experienced, the threat of the COVID-19 virus has devastated the hospitality industry around the world, and Concord is no exception. Being in one of the first counties in the nation to order the closure of bars and restaurants, The Hop Grenade Taproom was forced to close its doors on March 17, 2020. Like many of you, we were given virtually zero notice from county and government officials.
As a result, our organization was forced to immediately lay off 100% of our employees. This has resulted in the loss of wages and tips for an entire population of workers in your community. Hop Grenade employees are the very fabric of The Hop Grenade. They are the soul of our company. They are your bartenders, servers, neighbors, and friends. And they, like so many other workers, will struggle to make ends meet during this time.
They are also a dedicated and proud group of strong individuals. It has not surprised me one bit that they have not asked for anything from us, or the public, during this incredibly difficult time. In fact, they have only reached out to offer our organization help, which is incredibly generous, and not at all surprising from what I have come to know of their characters.
This request for help in restoring their lost tips comes has not come from my proud employees, but I know how much it will serve to help them through this, and every cent donated to this campaign (minus what GoFundMe takes, of course) will go directly to Hop Grenade employees, and only to our employees. As you know, they survive on tips. Many of you have asked how you can help, and this is the best way to help them directly.
I thank you for your generosity, your unwavering support, and for giving the entire Hop Grenade team a livelihood in the craft beer industry that they love. Your hard earned cash will go a very long way to help them all, as we navigate this crisis. I have personally made the first donation to this fund and team, that I truly love and appreciate, in order to show my respect and help push towards the stated goal of carrying them through this extraordinary strain on their financial well-being.
