John's HOPE

Donation protected

Our Johns hope...is in the Lord. For a long time Jeremiah 29:11 has been a verse to which he and his family have held on. "I know the plans I have for you declares The Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future." But there are days when it's hard to hold on to that hope.

John has always been a guy full of life, (and himself :) at times). He's thoughtful and passionate about life, loves to joke around and can always make you smile! For the past 7 years, his health has been deteriorating, leading to no longer being able to work 3+ years ago, and continues to decline. The loss of his job of 18 years and subsequent giving up of his family's home, due to a terrible infestation of mold (he's extremely allergic). Although those were tough days, there was hope. Hope that living in a house with no mold would bring some relief or even some level of healing...But 2 1/2 years later, his condition has continued to deteriorate. Basically life has stopped for John in most of the basic ways we often take for granted.  Most daily mundane tasks are challenging at best.

Many times, over the past several years through 3 primary care physicians (the 1st 2 gave up), many specialists, multiple procedures and countless dollars of meds and supplements, there has been hope. Hope that the next lab would reveal a treatable condition, that the next series of meds would bring relief, that the next doctor would have answers no one else has...but so far that has not been the case.  Ultimately our hope has never been in man, but God!

Now, we find ourselves once again filled with hope. We feel led to pursue treatment from Carrick Brain Center based out of Texas with a second location in Atlanta. This center has helped people in pretty miraculous ways that many traditional doctors had not been able to. We hope that will soon be our story too! This clinic doesn't accept any insurance and requires payment in full at the end of your 5 full days of testing, diagnosis and treatment. While that is an obstacle, I believe it can be overcome. I also believe that it's a hurdle worth jumping! The targeted timeframe for going is mid February to mid March of 2015. It is our desire that you would come alongside us in prayer, true heartfelt and diligent prayer.  Prayer from deep within the heart for Gods will to be accomplished. I would also ask you to prayerfully consider joining alongside us financially and help make this happen. As always, we are hoping in the Lord and hope that you might see him working in our lives!

John longs to simply be able.  Able to serve, be mobile, play with the kids and enjoy a date with Nichole, the simple things of life.

These years have been unspeakably painful and humbling.  No matter the outcome, may Christ be made real to someone through this journey.  May the one that doubts be drawn.  May the one searching, find.  May the one suffering find strength.  May we all find HOPE in Christ.
