Hope for Willow

Hi my name is Angela Jackura. Once again I am having to swallow my pride (something any parent who has a child with a terminal illness becomes accustomed to) and ask for help. My daughter Willow was diagnosed with grade 3 anaplastic ependymoma two weeks before her fourth birthday last year. The prognosis was grim from the beginning but in November, when all treatment failed to help, we received the news that the tumor not only did not shrink but actually had grown significantly. Unfortunately, it has continued to grow and my now 5 year old spunky girl is considered "terminal" and is under the care of hospice. Although she is legally blind and is gradually losing control of her bodily functions.... every day, all day, Willow sings and she dances.

It seems easy enough to spend every second I can with my sweet baby girl and her 13 year old sister making the most out of the months we have left together... unfortunately, most of my time and efforts lately goes towards how to pay the most basic of bills, buy all new clothes for Willow as radiation has caused her to start the early stages of puberty and gain 20 pounds, scrape up change for a happy meal, and as of a couple weeks ago, attempt to arrange for transportation needs as my car at the most inoportune time went "kerplunk" and I am now at the mercy of neighbors and friends for rides not only to medical appointments, but anywhere we need to go. I have found someone with a reliable car for $1,000 and right now, to be able to provide reliable and consistent transportation for my girls would in and of itself be a Godsend.

In addition to striving to meet my daughter's basic needs, the most important one is a homeopathic remedy not covered by insurance which is upwards of $400 for a very small vial for a 30 day supply. This medicine is not a cure but I have to believe it is helping Willow because in November they thought she might have 6 months and now, 10 months later, she is still putting up one hell of a fight!!!

I am beyond grateful for everything big or small that every one of you has done for me and my girls and I realize everyone of you have lives of your own, but every donation helps and every minute I can spend with Willow instead of worrying about how to buy toilet paper is appreciated beyond what mere words can say.

With sincere gratitude I thank you.
