Empowering Individuals with Autism in Ethiopia

Breaking New Ground: Introducing the First ASD Certificate Program on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in Ethiopia!

  • Tier One Launch: November 2022
  • Tier Two Arrival: Coming This November 2023

We are thrilled to announce groundbreaking progress in our journey to provide exceptional education and support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). HFSE proudly pioneered the first ASD Certificate Program on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in Ethiopia.

Tier One Recap (Launched November 2022)

In our inaugural tier, participants delved into the foundational aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder, gaining a comprehensive understanding of:
  • ASD Characteristics: Exploring ASD and its unique characteristics.
  • Causes and Diagnosis: Uncovering the latest research on the causes and diagnostic criteria of ASD.
  • Behavior Analysis: Learning about the functions of behavior and strategies for implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Strategies of Evidence-Based Practices: Discovering evidence-based practices such as prompting, reinforcement, visual support, and social skills.
  • Impact on Skill Development: Understanding how evidence-based practices positively impact student skill development and learning outcomes.

Tier Two Preview (Launching November 2023)

We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of Tier Two, which promises to be an even more enriching experience. Participants can expect a deep dive into the following topics:
  • Revising Behavior: Building on Tier One, we'll explore advanced behavior analysis.
  • Prompting, Reinforcement & Extinction: Expand knowledge of the art of prompting, reinforcement, and extinction process.
  • Modeling & Task Analysis: Gain insights into modeling behaviors and learn the process of teaching and how to break down complex tasks for effective teaching.
  • Classroom & Direct Instruction: Discover the application of evidence-based practices in the classroom.
  • Adaptive Skills & Behavior: Enhance adaptive skills competencies and equip participants with the strategies of EBP to effectively guide and support students during their transition to adulthood.

In November 2023, we will continue our commitment in leading the way to promote evidence-based practices for individuals with ASD. We look forward to another successful year of growth and learning.
