Hope for Halouma

Cancer, whatever its type, is something that affects us all in some way at some point in our lives. It is an indiscriminate disease that, quite often, unexpectedly hits & with devastating consequences to all who come into contact with it. At present our beautiful Halouma, Shaun and their family have been caught up in the whirlwind of this devastating disease and whilst Halouma uses every single bit of her strength, courage and fighting spirit to beat it into submission it is currently getting the upper hand. There is an opportunity for Halouma to recieve much needed treatment through Immunotherapy - a trial treatment here in Perth, and as it is a trial it is subsequently not covered by pbs or any health funds and as you can imagine it is very costly at approx $4500 per session. We, as family, friends & colleagues have spent these last few months offering help on varying levels & in as many ways possible because thats what you do when you care for someone. We cant stop our intelligent, beautiful & wickedly funny friend from being in pain and feeling so terrible, we cant take away the paralyzing fear that this horrific disease brings & despite how much we want to, we cant take away the hurt and never ending stress this god awful disease brings to those in its wake. What we CAN do is help our girl to get the treatment she needs - we can share this page with our circles of influence and try to raise the funds required for the minimum 4 sessions that she will need. We CAN help to take the financial pressure away from Shaun & Halouma that not only treatment brings but the  general cost of living is also an additional pressure our beloved friends do not need. I urge you, if you are in a position to, to please contribute what you can - that may be $, it may be sharing this link to your wider circle, whatever you can do will all help. We are all nothing without hope & it is with much hope in our hearts that we share this page. Our hope is that we can join, as a  community & rally round this incredible family at an incredibly hard time and remind them that hope is something that we dont let go of and that we get the treatment so desperately needed to help Halouma. Lets take her fighting spirit and remind cancer just who it is dealing with & where it can go!! To coin a little mantra that was established by Poppy very early on in this battle....... F**K CANCER!!
