Hope for Coach Steve

An unexpected cancer diagnosis has blindsided the Aubertine family. Steve Aubertine is a well known guy in his local community of Boscawen, NH. His wife, Amy, jokingly calls him "the mayor" because he seems to know everyone! Steve, a 41 year old native of Boscawen, NH, has been a fixture in youth sports for 15 years as a coach, mentor, and volunteer for soccer, basketball, and track. He is a dedicated husband, parent, son, and friend with a sense of humor that is unmatched.
Six weeks ago, a trip to the hospital for abdominal pain turned into major surgery and a subsequent cancer diagnosis. Neuroendocrine carcinoma is a rare form of cancer where neuroendocrine cells develop into tumors. Neuroendocrine tumors (NET's) can spread to other parts of the body.
Steve has initiated consultation and diagnostics at Dana Farber in Boston, MA for the malignant form of this disease. He has been on medical leave of absence since the initial surgery 6 weeks ago . Amy has also undertaken unplanned absence from work to care for her husband without compensation. The reality of financial burden has already impacted the family with the initial medical bills coming in, travel expenses to/from Boston, and a future that holds immense burdens emotionally, physically, and financially.
Steve and Amy have been known to give generously of their resources, time, and compassion in times of need for others. I can attest to the eternal gratitude this family will hold in their hearts for your help during this extremely difficult time.
