Hope Camp for Sotik Girls, Kenya

The girls at Sotik School are known as the "forgotten girls." They are girls who rarely start or finish school because of hardships in their daily lives. These hardships include money, sanitary pads and family obstacles. We want these girls to know that they matter, that their lives matter, and they can fulfill their destiny. Blooming Lily Foundation empowers them by relieving some of those obstacles and by giving them hope and a roadmap to success.

We have worked with Sotik School for 4 years and to-date have influenced 70 out of the 93 students by taking a group of 25 girls at a time on an annual all-expenses paid empowerment camp where they learn from working and trained professionals. This 4-day, intensive camp covers pro-social skills, obstacle identification, how to overcome these obstacles and introduces them to careers outside of tea-picking, which would otherwise be their only option. Our camp is also the first time these girls would have ever left their village, slept on a bed, used a flushing toilet, or had access to running water.

$5,000 covers expenses for 25 girls for the 4 days. Help us change their lives and open up their world. 100% of proceeds goes directly toward the girls' expenses. The moderators and chaperones pay their own way and are not compensated. Won't you join us?
