Hooked on Books for Sun Prairie Schools

Hooked on Books, a project management team from Madison College, is very proud to announce a new partnership with Madison Reading Project, a Madison-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, who has provided more than 160,000 books, to more than 81,000 children since their inception. Both organizations share in similar missions; connecting children and books to develop a love for reading and learning.

Hooked on Books and Madison Reading Project will collaborate with the Sun Prairie Area School District, for the purchase of age-appropriate books to be given to all Sun Prairie Elementary students.

COVID-19 has impacted our libraries ability to provide a sufficient supply of books to these students. This is requiring students to utilize online/electronic books for their daily reading material, as well as class time and schoolwork, and ultimately has led to an increase in screen time.

We are asking for community and business support, by way of donations, to purchase new books. According to the Madison Reading Project, for every $1,000, we can donate 400 books!  

This fundraiser will be active through December 15th, 2020.
