Honoring Sandra: Aid for Medical and Funeral Expenses

In Loving Memory of Alexandra “Sandra” Andriani (Nichols)

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Sandra, who lost her courageous battle on April 11, 2025. She fought valiantly through pain, uncertainty, and overwhelming medical challenges, while always holding on to hope and the love she shared with her husband.

Sandra was first hospitalized on January 20 after being rushed to the emergency room due to life-threatening complications from severe vaginal bleeding and dangerously low platelet levels. Doctors discovered an autoimmune disorder that kept her platelet count near zero and later identified a large 17 cm mass on her ovary. Though she began immunotherapy and received multiple transfusions, her condition remained critical.

Despite every effort, Sandra faced these battles without the safety net of medical insurance. She and her husband had only recently married following many years of successfully maintaining a long distant relationship that spanned thousands of miles. After immigrating from Indonesia to the US, Sandra recently received her working papers and Social Security card, however she was denied inclusion on her husband James’ insurance due to an unfortunate administrative mistake.

While Sandra began to write her story in hopes of reaching out for support from her loved ones, her condition progressed rapidly, leaving her unable to finish. In her final hours, she found comfort in listening to her family and friends call in- each voice sharing words of deep love and heartfelt goodbyes. Just minutes after talking to the last people on the phone, her niece and nephew, Sandra passed peacefully at 7:50pm, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Sandra was a fighter. Her love for life, for her husband, family and for the future they were building together shone through every word and every step she took on this journey. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and strength remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Now, her grieving husband is left not only with a broken heart but also with the heavy burden of hospital bills and burial expenses. We are humbly asking for help—any amount you can give will make a difference and ease the financial strain during this deeply painful time.
