Honoring Jason Skiles - Family Support Fund

Donation protected
Tonight, there is a family in pain. Six kiddos who’ve lost their amazing father. Countless people will never hear the infectious laugh of a good friend again in this life.

I am sitting here writing this, still in shock and disbelief…our hearts are shattered. Completely and wholly.

Jason Skiles, has been ripped away from us in the most senseless and painful way. One of those instances where you peek behind the curtain of seemingly average daily life and realize that there’s just a thin veil of circumstance between the lives we live and bitter, disgusting loss.

Late Tuesday night, April 19th, Jay and the love of his life, Stephanie, went out to celebrate. Dinner and some drinks and laughs at a local Tavern in Wildwood, MO. (I’m sure that everyone’s ears started ringing with the sound of Jason’s amazing and infectious laugh when you read this)

Jay and Steph met another person there, and (as he’s known to do), Jason made quick friends with him. They had more laughs, smiles, and even a few selfies with this new friend. Things took an unimaginable turn somewhere, and for reasons we will never know, this stranger chose to take Jay’s life and then his own just outside of the tavern doors. No explanations or motives. A meaningless and wasteful loss.

There are no words for the pain that this kind of loss leaves. There are no intervals of solace, no hug that can make it go away. We’ve been robbed of his smile, big bear hugs, and enormous love forever.

Stephanie and his children (Alisha and Noah) and his bonus children (Noah, Silas, Lucas and Emma) are left to pick up the pieces of the life they built. This isn’t supposed to happen to people we love.

Jason’s family has a long and intense journey ahead of them. Bills, memorial expenses, everyday costs of raising a big family and more will keep pouring in despite their pain. Jason was a great man, and we owe it to him to help his legacy live on through his family.

This is what he would do for all of us if the tables were turned.

This Fund is to benefit the family’s current and future expenses.

A heavy-lift like this will take many of us working together for them. So let’s return the love that he gave to us all and donate.

Memorial service information will follow soon.

If Jay could write the last line of this message, I feel like he would tell you all that he sends his love and appreciation for being a part of his amazing life.
Please help share this story.

Thank you for loving and honoring Jason’s life by supporting his family during their pain.
