It is with the heaviest heart I’ve ever had to carry that I share the unimaginable news that my beloved baby brother, Devon, passed away on Tuesday, May 13th.

Devon was the sweetest, most loving soul with a silly sense of humor that lit up every room. Even as he faced an incredibly difficult journey living with schizophrenia for the past 13 years, he remained the kind, gentle, and beautiful spirit we all loved so deeply.

While our family is devastated by this loss, we take some comfort in knowing Devon is finally at peace, free from the daily torment of his illness. We miss him more than words can express.

We are now in the process of planning several events to honor Devon’s life in a way that reflects who he truly was:

• A private viewing for immediate family

• A memorial service for extended loved ones and friends

• A celebration of life paddle out at the beach, a place Devon loved

This GoFundMe was created to help us cover the unexpected costs of Devon’s end-of-life arrangements and celebration events, including cremation, memorial venue costs, transportation, food, flowers, printed materials, and paddle out expenses.
