Hey People! I am Kasim Carter and I am proud to honor Black Philanthropy Month by supporting Outdoor Afro. For the past 10 years I have volunteered as a leader with this incredible network and have seen firsthand how bringing Black communities into the outdoors builds confidence, leadership, and deep connections to land and water. Outdoor Afro creates welcoming spaces where people can hike, kayak, garden, fish, and simply belong in nature.

I volunteer because I believe access to the outdoors is a form of community care. I have watched beginners become leaders, neighborhoods reclaim green spaces, and families discover healing and joy through outdoor activities. Supporting Outdoor Afro helps ensure those experiences are available year-round through leadership training, local programming, and stewardship projects that center our communities.
