Honoring Diana Boswell

*Update*
We would like to thank all that made donations.

Diana went to be with Jesus on Thursday June 14th 2018. Thank you for all of your prayers, Diana was able to meet her great grandson Weston, watch her other great-grand children, Shiah, and Sage play in their soccer games, visit her family at the family reunion, go to church, celebrate family member's birthdays, have a lobster boil with close friends, play bridge and enjoy countless family dinners!

After the last hospital visit, Diana was told she would be lucky to walk again, she once again showed us a miracle, she was able to walk with a walker, eat dinner at the table, visit in the living room, navigate through Kroger, attend many soccer games at many different venues, she was able to relax with a pedicure, eat lots of BBQ, and talk for hours with friends, whether it was visiting in our home, on the phone, email or even Facebook. Diana Boswell has more friends than most, and it is not surprising, Diana made friends where ever she goes.

Diana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family:  Daughter Shannon and son-in- law Robert Webber, Sheridan Haynie, her grand children, Skylar and, wife Shelby Webber, Kendell and husband Jared Roden, Brianna Haynie and Cody Temple, and Avery Haynie, and Great Grandchildren Shiah and, Sage Webber, and Weston Roden.

This page is about honoring the Amazing Life of Diana Boswell.

Diana's Story:

My name is Skylar Webber, many of you may know me, some of you know each other, and a number of you don’t know me at all.  Yet, here we are on this page, bound by a common thread.  Not the kind of “internet thread” that you find in a forum or on a blog.  Rather, we are here because of a woman.  A Great Woman.  My Grandmother, Diana Boswell.  To me, Diana is my Mimi, but to you all she has been a number of wonderful things.  A mentor, a dear friend perhaps, a mother, a wife, a hell of a presenter, a great example, a boss and fearless leader, a kind shoulder, a place to stay, a pillar in her industry, a Thanksgiving or Christmas away from home, a benefactor, or maybe even just a listening ear.  In her life, my Mimi has worn many hats, but to us all it is certain that she has been one thing; a true blessing.

As many of you know, a few weeks ago Diana was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer, and for those who aren’t familiar with the disease, it is the worst kind of news.  Pancreatic Cancer is known as the “silent killer” because it progresses within the body without many symptoms.  When a patient finally receives the news of the illness, very often it is too late.  Despite her many good deeds, this cancer has not spared Diana.  It has taken her into its grips and is holding on tightly.  Her prognosis is indeed dire.  As I write this, tears in eyes, I just received the news that my Mimi is fighting for her life in a hospital room across town.  I am headed there now, but I know that first, this is what I must ask.

Please pray for Diana.  Please pray and pray and pray.

You see, Diana has something to fight for!  Something to live for! In addition to those who love her, you and I, she has a great grandson that she would like to meet!  My little sister Kendell is pregnant with her first child, and Mimi is determined to meet the new addition to our family.  “I’ve got some unfinished business to tend to before I go home to The Good Lord”, as she so eloquently phrases it.

That is why I write this letter to you today.  Mimi has something to fight for, and while it may not be the happy ending that we all want so badly for her, meeting her new grandson Weston will undoubtedly be “her happy ending”.

My hope in gathering you here, on this page, is to help our Mimi to know that she has so many people who love her. So many people who care.  Should she make it through the next few days, she will need to seek the life prolonging alternatives to chemotherapy that are available.  Available, but at a cost.  A cost that Mimi does not want to burden on anyone, but a cost that I know that all are willing to share in.  Help me show my Mimi that she can fight if she wants to.

Costs for treatment of this kind can be upwards of $50,000.00.  A lot of money I know, but together, I also know that we are capable of doing this for her.  Imagine, how overwhelmingly uplifting it would be if we could give her this gift over the next 24-48 hours.

Diana is a special woman who has touched the lives of so many.  She has lived her life with the inherent belief that people are good.  Over the years, she has instilled this belief in me, and in turn, that is why I am here speaking to you.  You are the good people.  The people of Diana’s life that have given her the hope in humanity that she holds on to so dearly.  Please join me in offering her that hope one last time.

We do not take our request lightly.  Over the next year, my wife Shelby and I will donate $50,000.00 as we found and fund the Warriors Like Mimi Foundation.  A foundation for the mentoring of young people in the way that my Mimi so exemplified in her lifetime as a mentor.  As the owners of the Warriorz Life Corporation, a company dedicated to the social and athletic development of today's youth, we feel especially blessed to honor our Mimi in this way.

All that know Diana know that she is a very proud woman who worked so very hard in her life.  She has taught me that "you can't take it with you".  Over the years she has given so much to people.  She is very concerned that her illness is burdensome on others.  That is why I humbly ask you to help us show her that she is not our burden, but our treasure.

Your financial kindness will be directed to Diana's care taking, treatment and final expenses.  Thank you very much for being such an amazing group of friends and family.  We will forever be grateful. You are a true blessing.
