Rockland Homes for Heroes Fund
Tax deductible
Background: My name is Sarah DiPietra. I am fifteen years-old and I live in new York City. My family and I have donated items to an organization called Homes for Heroes. Homes for Heroes helps to house honorably discharged, displaced, and disabled veterans in Rockland County, New York. It is a private, not-for-profit foundation that serves veterans in the Lower Hudson Valley Counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Westchester, which are served by the Montrose and Castle Point VA campuses. Many of the men would be homeless without Homes for Heroes. There are currently eight Veteran residents at Homes for Heroes in Rockland County.
The Cause: One day recently, we were dropping off some items and we noticed that Marine Mike’s car was gone. After almost two decades of use, Marine Mike’s car had died. In the process of securing a new vehicle, Marine Mike’s savings were depleted. Marine Mike needed a little help getting food for his faithful companion and service dog, Billy. Many of the other veterans at Homes for Heroes could use help with large emergency expenses or even a little extra help buying smaller things. My family and Homes for Heroes need YOUR HELP to try and make the lives of Marine Mike and those who protected our country in times of war a little bit easier.
How You Can Help: With donations as little as $1 or $5, you can help these veterans live with less worry about paying off loans or buying other necessities. We are aiming to raise $500 per Veteran.
If you have other ways you want to help or any questions, please contact me using my email, [email redacted] or message me through Facebook, Sarah DiPietra.
