help me open the first honeysuckle café!

I have the amazing opportunity to open a café here in San Antonio, a dream of mine since I launched honeysuckle in 2016. I am so excited that someone sees the need for creative women of color to lend their talent and voice to the culinary community, but I seek some funds to make this opportunity a reality.
Most recently, honeysuckle's catering orders and popups came to a halt and the COVID-19 pandemic nearly destroyed my business. I received no aid from the government, and pivoted and sacrificed to make ends meet. I seriously considered abandoning honeysuckle, until a mentor of mine encouraged me that there were better times to come. I am truly blessed that I have been given the chance to reimagine my culinary talents into a permanent space, and I take this next chapter to heart.
I funded and bootstrapped honeysuckle with simply an idea, the ganas, and much help from family and friends who believed in my talent and hoped I would succeed. I have always had overwhelming support from our community, and have loved to serve and surprise you all with the next whimsical and wonderful treat that I have up my sleeve. With a bit of seed money, I know I can create something even more wonderful.
I hope the new space will be a place where we can gather when it's safe. It will be somewhere where we are united by our love of food and incredible hospitality. I am so eager to provide jobs, create a safe space to give back to the community, and bring a little light and levity again through my dessert concepts.
While I need help to fulfill my dream, so many other existing businesses are also trying to make ends meet and serve their communities safely. I am happy to dedicate 5% of what this campaign raises to other micro-business owners who have been unable to receive aid during the pandemic.
If you choose to donate, include your contact details for a free treat when we open our first location!
