Mason’s friends describe him as someone who would give you the shirt off his back, but these days, that’s all he has.
My name is Toby Lee and I own the Batteries Plus Bulbs in Beaumont, TX Mason Walker has been a great friend and employee for the last two years but has lived near Beaumont his entire life. Hurricane Harvey has flooded his home to the ceiling and he has lost everything. After days of waiting, he was able to get home by boat and found the surging waters have just washed his life away.
Even a little means a lot. Our goal is to raise enough money to get Mason in an apartment and provide him with a used car. If near Beaumont, donations of household items such as furniture, appliances, towels, kitchen items (or a used car) will be held dear. We tried to meet a few immediate needs and asked him his shoe size. Mason’s response was, “That’s OK, I have a pair. How can I help you guys?”
The Beaumont Batteries Plus was broken into and a few things were stolen. Even in the chaos, Mason found a way to get there and secure the store from further damage. Selfless.
There are so many needs right now that it can be numbing but please act. Give BIG and see the change you can make in a life. All funds are given directly to Mason to pay deposit and rent on an apartment, repair his truck and buy basic items necessary to set up a household. I will be withdrawing funds and presenting Mason a check for the entire amount at a company party.
