                                                                                                           MARIE'S STORY

It all started when Marie was a child, to the song of cicadas and the scent of lavender in the beautiful French countryside
of Provence.

An artist at heart, with a passion for baking and cooking, and with over 20 years experience in the cultural and food industries of her native France, Marie’s love affair with baking was ignited at a young age and led her to pursue a path in the culinary arts.

After studying law at the Université of Aix-en-Provence, Marie worked for many years in the cultural industry, and later met Hando , her Vietnamese husband who had two celebrated family led restaurants, Paris Hanoi & Little Hanoi in the heart of Paris. They started to work together and build on the existing success of the family business.

In 2009 she discovered New York for the first time, where she sensed that their lives would change forever in that city.

In 2019 she moved from Paris to New York with her family to explore the opportunity of developing a House of  Vietnam; incorporating French Vietnamese cuisine, the Vietnamese martial art Vô Vietnam, and the holistic treatment of Reflexology, all under one roof.

Then in March 2020, the pandemic arrived and her life changed completely, along with the rest of the world. For the first time in her life, she had the opportunity to pause, reflect and focus upon her lifelong passion... the creation and realization of her own boutique style, home based bakery.

And so, Home Sweet Nest was born!

Today, I am seeking support. I’m going to settle my bakery at home in Los Angeles to begin with, where I shall continue to source the best organic products for my new customers. But I wish to find a professional kitchen so I am in a position to offer my boulangerie and patisserie selection to a larger customer base.

To accomplish my dream, I need to invest $55,000

·    Professional equipment and furniture : ovens, proofer, water cooler, mixers, racks, on-site equipment to be purchased from bank) ($20,000)

·    Rental and renovation of a commercial space : architect & contractor fees, enclosing the lab area, signage, storefront upgrade. ($20,000)

·    Company & Legal fees  ($10,000)

·   Marketing : videos, photos, marketing and communication strategy, public relations. ($5000)

Truly, I appreciate that these are difficult times for everybody. So, your generosity and your support are very precious to me! Without you, I may not be able to start my business.  I'm very grateful for each dollar invested in my French Bakery in Los Angeles! Every little bit helps.

Thank you all so very much. I look forward to seeing you at Home Sweet Nest Bakery

À bientôt!

Marie
