Last night, Antonela and her family lost everything in a devastating house fire. The fire started in the neighbouring duplex and spread to their home. They barely made it out in time. Just a few more minutes and things could have ended very differently.

The timing makes this even more heartbreaking. Antonela is halfway through a high-risk pregnancy. After previously experiencing preeclampsia and blood pressure complications, she should be resting and preparing for her baby. Instead, she has lost her home, everything they own and the place she was supposed to bring her baby home to.

Her son Kai has also lost his bedroom, toys, belongings and the home he knew.

Antonela worked so hard to buy and renovate this home for herself, Kai, her husband and their growing family. It was their safe place and the home they were building their future in after bringing family over from Albania to be together in Canada.

If you know Antonela, you know how much she would do for anyone. As a hairstylist in Fort St. John, she has built relationships with so many people in this community. She is incredibly loving and giving, and now it's our turn to show up for her.

Donations will help with temporary accommodation, clothing, everyday necessities, replacing everything they've lost and preparing for their new baby.
