Home devastated by flood in Leicester

Hello I am fund raising for my friend's family I have known for many years . My friend works as nursing assistant at NHS trust, husband is retired and they have a son who is epileptic. Her home in Leicester was flooded last week during storm Henk. The water came up to a meter height and they have lost everything on the ground floor. They had just completed an extension work to the house with all their retirement savings just before Christmas to ensure that their son had a room downstairs and were waiting for the final certificate from the City Council so that they can insure the house. Unfortunately the flood came and their house is not insured. They have lost everything on the ground floor which includes the new flooring, furniture and a special bed for their son, which has all been destroyed. Since their home was not insured at the time of incident they have to bear the expense of the repairs as they need this completed to move back into their home. Please be kind and generous to help .
