Holmburg Family Burn Recovery Fund

On December 21st, 2012, Andy Holmburg came to this world along with his twin sister. Just recently he was in an accident burning at least 40% of his body. His mother, Sarah Holmburg, was also burned while saving her son. Andy was flight for life to Children's while his mother was taken by ambulance to another hospital more than 60 miles away.

The flash fire happened on January 13th. He had 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his hands, chest, and face. He is recovering at Children's Hospital being treated by a fantastic group of doctors, nurses, and burn specialists. His swelling has started to decrease and his lungs and eyes are in good condition. He is currently being sedated. He had a full bandage change Monday morning and hospital staff like his progress so far. He has a skin graft procedure tentatively scheduled for Thursday. We will post updates as they become available on his condition.

Father and husband, Michael Holmburg, is one of the many important employees at Western Sugar. He has been with us now for almost 10 years. Mike, Sarah, and their 4 kids have always been very active with the employees, we all have become one big family, and more than just co-workers.

Andy continues to fight his injuries and shows great strength. As a Western Sugar family we are asking for any kind of donation to help with the recovery of this little guy.  It may go towards helping the family recover emotionally, financially, or even transportation and lodging while making all these trips to Children’s Hospital for the next few months.
