ABOUT MARTIN

Mental illness is a devastating disease that destroys lives. This is the story of my son, Martin- but there are millions who are facing the same problem.

Martin was a gifted teenager, playing chess at the age of five, part of the I.B. advance program in grade school. He also attended Whitney Young, a top Magnet school in Chicago. His future looked bright until the age of 18 when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. That day changed his life forever, and I lost my son to this disease.

In the middle of establishing a new business, I gave up everything and decided to take care of Martin. He spent the next two years with me, and I made every possible effort to find a way to get him back to normal life. It was a string of different types of therapies and a long, learning curve about this illness, with the help of the National Alliance of Mental Illness. During this period, his cognitive abilities and memory deteriorated. Gradually, he was medicated more and more.

Every few months, he was forced into treatment in behavioral-health type hospitals. He was not able to perform simple living activities and take care of himself. Martin gained 50 pounds. He started becoming angry and blaming me for his disability. One day when I was not able to control his aggressive behavior I had to call 911 for protection. That was one of the most difficult moments in my life – to see my son taken in handcuffs to jail. I cried begging the police to let him go, but they had to continue with the report and put him away. Martin had fallen into a vicious cycle full of circumstances we could not change. He has had many different diagnoses including schizophrenia and temporal lobe epilepsy.

Martin has spent his last three 3 years in a Mental Health Institution. His life consists of sleeping most of the time because of his medication. He can’t enjoy the activities of a healthy young man, like others his age. Martin’s only relief is the creation of his poetry and art.

"What do you see when you look at me?
My hopes, my nightmares, my joy, my pain
When you look into these blue eyes
Do you see the ocean? or do you see the sky?
I want to know what I look like for you:
   a  jerk? a loser? a freak?
I want to laugh at my clothes and spit on my hair
Punch the stomach that eats up all the pain
and watch it spill  out like shacked soda
Give me your eyes, your taste, your smell
So for one day, I can watch myself cry …….."
                                                                                                           Martin

I spent many years searching, learning, and investigating the problem and looking for an alternative method of care. This included among other things making a few trips to India to learn about a holistic approach to healing.

With the professional help of others, I created a "Holistic Super Health" program to help my son and many others with similar challenges. The goal is to create a sustainable and effective holistic treatment plan for addictions & mental illnesses, which once tested successfully, will become a model for future treatments and could be easily replicated. It is estimated that 75% of people with addictions disorders have mental illness issues also.

The holistic approach means that successful recovery consists of treating a person physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually and encourages the patient to include healing strategies that support the whole person.

The Holistic Super Health is designed for  40 days

Before the program, each participant will be tested for Heavy Metals, Gut/stool, Mineral -Vitamin content, Nutritional deficiencies, and Spect Brain Analysis.

HOLISTIC PRACTICES INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM:
