Holden James is an 18-year-old high school senior, known throughout his community for his role as a starting offensive lineman for Clear Creek High School (Wildcats #73). He is also known to his loved ones as one of the sweetest people we know; our gentle giant. He comes from a humble home, raised by his dedicated and loving mother, Teresa Ramirez, who works in the nutrition department for Clear Creek ISD. Holden is a very kind, timid, and respectful young adult who had the aspiration of playing for a college football team, with hopes of having his education paid for through a football scholarship.
Tragic Accident
On Friday, December 4th, 2020, during his athletics class, his life took a drastic turn. The team was practicing running plays when he was terribly injured and rushed to the hospital. Some of the injuries sustained include a popliteal artery injury, a knee joint complete disruption with compartment syndrome, and a dead muscle. As a result, the dead muscle had to be removed, and he has undergone multiple surgeries and will require more, as well as extensive physical therapy. This unfortunate accident has caused a physical disability that will affect him for the rest of his life. These unforeseen circumstances have put a financial and emotional strain on him and his loved ones.
What He Will Need
We have created this GoFundMe page to help Holden with his medical expenses, medical equipment, new housing accommodations, college education, and extensive therapy. He needs this help from his community. All he asks for is “a second chance.” Life can seem very unfair at times, but there is always something that can be done.
