Tony's Army

Anyone who knows my Dad, Tony Amato, knows he is very dedicated to his family; Wife (Sherri Amato), Daughter (Natasha Nakapaahu), Son (Anthony Amato), and Son in Law (James Nakapaahu). He will go out of his way to help others not expecting anything in return. He is the head of his house hold and does everything in his power to keep a roof over his family's head and food on the table. August 2017 was when it all started. Local urologist found polyps in his bladder. Two removal surgeries and BCG medicine was supposed to get rid of it. With no luck the doctor recommended a urologist at St. Peter's in Albany. After undergoing more surgeries and meds to no avail. After biopsy he was informed he had bladder cancer. September 6th 2017 my dads bladder and lymph nodes were removed. At this point we thought my dad was cancer-free, but a CT/ bone scan was done to find enlarged lymph nodes. Chemo was needed. And after the chemo treatments all was clear.  But this past June he found out the cancer has spread to his spine, liver, and lungs. Several treatments are plan, he is currently in treatment through radiation and Keytruda. My amazing mom is driving my dad back and forth to Albany every day, Mon-Fri so he can get the treatment he needs. With that being said, my dad is out of work and my mom as well.  This GoFundMe is to help my family with financial expenses.  Anything will help. ❤️
