Kindergarten Classroom Needs

Hi! I’m a Kindergarten teacher in a public school in BC. This year we had dramatic cuts to our budget that are having a large impact. We used to get a small classroom fund of $150 dollars a year to cover ALL costs of materials and things for our students - including supplies, toys, spare snacks… and this year we are getting ZERO. I’ve been teaching for 5 years now and have spent over $4000 of my own money to furnish my classroom and have supplies for the children. The thought that I won’t get even a single dollar this year for these materials is very disheartening. On top of that, we weren’t told until into the school year and I’d already spent this money to get the class set up and feeling nice for the new children.

The money raised from this campaign will go to buying writing tools for young writers, outdoor learning gear, craft supplies, and toys for inclusive dramatic play.
