The Christmas Blessing

Dear friends,

Our mutual friend Rev. Lonnie Honeycutt is the founder of  99 for 1 Ministries.

Lonnies ministry in my mind is more like the ministry of Jesus when he walked the earth, than any ministry I have encountered.

On a daily basis Pastor Lonnie ministers to people from all walks of life... often by crawling under bridges, walking into the woods and going down dark alleys where, frankly, most people either refuse or are hesistant to go.

99 for 1 Ministries' mission statement reads as follows:

"99 for 1 Ministries exist to serve the under-loved in in our city and beyond by showing the love of Christ in practical ways and by training others to do the same."

Pastor Lonnie is a minister to the masses and, as such, he does NOT have a church with parishioners that pay tithes. His parishioners are homeless veterans, families that are homeless because a parent has lost a job, drug and alcohol addicts, prostitutes and more. Everyone he ministers to is in desperate shape.

He shows the love of Jesus by giving practical help by offering them help with whatever they happen to need -- from food, shelter, clothing, help with the utilities, transporting vets to the VA, etc.. 

As long as 99 for 1 Ministries has the funds or the volunteers Lonnie helps and IS changing lives.

This is a tough ministry.  He doesn't have the base of financial support that most ministers have because of the the type ministry that God has called him to. His family also pays a price for his ministry. Life is always a financial struggle in this type ministry but even more so in todays economy.

Pastor Lonnie has a beautiful, loving family. Two children, Brance and Danielle and his wife Dawn.

My friend Dr. Bill Frazier and I have decided to head-up an effort to give Lonnie and his family a SPECIAL CHRISTMAS this year.

We are offering you the the opportunity to join us in blessing Lonnie and his family with a special Christmas love offering this year. Our goal is to raise a $1500.00 for his family for Christmas!
