Hit and Run Victim's Support

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Cherie, and I am a victim of a recent hit and run in my neighborhood where too many fatalities have happened this summer alone. On October 18, 2022 at 8 p.m. I was crossing what seemed to be a safe walk towards the other side of Whalley and Hobart St. When I was stuck by an on coming vehicle that didn't Stop nor can I find video footage of this person driving behind the wheel... Police department haven't so much as reached out to me since I've been out of rehab and so I had to ReportIt! on News Channel 8 which was aired a few days ago trying to seek justice and change in that particular area of demise. Here is the Link special thanks to Kent Pierce for covering my story!
I am disabled after being a survivor from Brain Aneurysm of 12 years without any complications, would've never thought that one day I would wake up to Rods and Screws riddled with stitches, 3 broken ribs on my left side , spine broken in 2 places, leg broken along with right wrists and ankle broken in 3 places along with teeth that were destroyed due to the impact. I have a family and grandchildren that I cannot provide for with no hopes of compensation to look forward to, I was just hired at Yale New Haven Health prior to the accident in which I cannot return for a while!
I have very little support and reaching out for help from anyone seemed like to much but I find myself in a situation where help is needed! I am now officially homeless as I had to move out of my old apartment by November 30, 2022... Temporarily residing with a family member in whom I appreciate very much. I have no vehicle to get around in as this was a goal of mine when I got the job of my dreams as a PCA at Yale. I have to pay out of pocket expenses that I don't have money for right now I owe the dentist a balance and it may hinder me getting my smile back! I am Blessed to be alive and have opted to mobilize on much needed action that should've been implemented a while ago to ensure the safety of the residents and pedestrians that cross Whalley Ave. Whalley avenue is dangerous and needs speed bumps, better lighting, raised crosswalks, stop signs and working cameras being that Whalley Ave is always being treated like a highway!
I am in need of help finding out who hit me, altered my life and decided to keep going. I have to learn how to move and also walk properly... I will never be the same! I am asking for monetary donations to help me get back on my feet. This way I can still take care of my family as a single parent. I appreciate the time, prayers, and support from everyone simply because everyone needs somebody! My whole life has changed and so has my depression. The hurt and anxiety of just knowing that people can be so heartless as to keep going after nearly killing someone is traumatic all in itself.
I have very little family that can help and so had to reach out to GoFundMe for a little help. Thank you all so much and may God Bless you moving forward...thank you for hearing my story! This isn't just about me though, it's also about making sure that we make change for better safety precautions that should be in place for our neighborhoods and communities as a whole!!!

God Bless and Thank you. ❤️
