Fir-Conway Lutheran Church Sanctuary Restoration

Please join us in preserving a local landmark. We are raising money for the Fir-Conway Lutheran Church Sanctuary Restoration.

Fir-Conway Lutheran Church is an active and historically significant church in Skagit County. It was founded in 1888, and the present sanctuary was completed in 1916. Unfortunately, in 2001 damage was sustained during the Nisqually Earthquake, affecting the chimney on the east side of the sanctuary, allowing water to run down into the building slowly causing the plaster to crack. We have partially torn down the old chimney and have sealed the roof so no more water can run into the building from this location. Facing many obstacles since 2001, our Fir-Conway Lutheran Church congregation has been unable to raise the full amount needed to make repairs to the sanctuary. We had successfully raised almost one-half of the $100,000 needed to make the necessary repairs when our elevator became inoperable, requiring us to use that money on a new elevator. For over 130 years, people have been worshipping and celebrating in this beautiful space. Our church is truly a community building used by many organizations for events, meetings, and activities. It is a place where God’s love and grace are celebrated daily.
We appreciate your help in maintaining our historic building for future generations. As a 501(C)(3) organization, your donation is tax-deductible. Every donation will be received with many thanks.
