Historic Military Funeral Transports
Donation protected
I am trying to get a small non profit off the ground, to help honor low income Veterans with their funeral.
A little about what we do. It is our goal to provide a different kind of send off to our Veterans and First Responders, by transporting a loved ones remains in the troop compartment of our M35A2 Deuce and a Half. It is our goal to provide our Veterans the most Honorable, and Respectful final ride we can.
There is NO charge for our services and there never will be. But, fuel and maintenance is expensive on a 50 year old 2.5 ton truck, so if the family would like to donate a little to help with my out of pocket costs we will accept that.
Now, our vehicle. It is a 1971 M35A2 2.5 ton cargo/ troop carrier. The truck has been restored to near factory condition including a complete engine rebuild, transmission, transfer case, axles, ect. The paint is period correct for the Vietnam Era and the markings are correct from Army Regulations. We can place ANY size casket in the rear of the truck to include your pall bearers whom may ride with the casket in the troop compartment. The rear is completely enclosable to keep your loved one dry in any weather conditions. If your cemetery is at the end of a long muddy road or at the top of a steep hill on a horrible unimproved road, this truck is not a 4X4, but is a 6X6 and will ensure that your funeral will always be able to be performed where you want it to.
A little about myself. I am a 22 year Army Veteran, with 5 Combat tours overseas. Having spent 5 years on Funeral Honor Details, and having officiated over 700 Military Funerals, I still felt the need to give back to our Veterans. Too many times I saw a Hearse pull up to a funeral and I just cringed at the condition of their vehicle and how the caskets were handled, it broke my heart. So, that's when I decided to try to give back to our Veterans regardless of how much money they had. That's why our services are a free or donation only.
