His Heart Matters

His Heart Matters is a fundraising campaign for Brandon Washington of Round Rock, Texas. Brandon is a 31 year old loving husband and father that suffers from Congestive Heart Failure. Due to his condition Brandon was implanted with a defibrillator to regulate his heartbeat. Brandon was recently hospitalized in ICU due to Flash Pulmonary Edema, which is excessive fluid in the lungs. Due to the Congestive Heart Failure his body is unable to move fluid effectively, resulting in his lungs filling with fluid and affecting his ability to breathe. This recent event has prompted us to take action. Brandon's cardiologist stated that losing weight will play a very integral part in his heart condition. Brandon has adopted a healthier lifestyle by changing eating habits and exercising. However, these changes are not enough to have the type of change Brandon needs to see a difference in his heart condition. The doctors have recommended that Brandon have the Bariatric Sleeve Procedure. This procedure will result in the necessary weight loss and improvement in his heart condition. Unfortunately, Brandon's insurance will not cover this type of surgery under any circumstances therefore he is responsible for the total cost. This is where we hope you can help.

This campaign is to help raise money to fund the surgery, medical costs and to host a health fair. The health fair will educate the community on heart disease and encourage others to take control of their health by eating healthy, exercising, and regular visits to their doctors.
