Hilton Family Support Fund

Andrew Ray Hilton, age 14, passed away on April 23, 2018. He was born on December 6, 2003, to Tomoko and Marty Hilton in Bethesda, Maryland.

This fund will provide financial assistance to Andrew's mother Tomoko and his two brothers Takumi and Akira.

Andrew moved to Rogers Ranch in San Antonio in 2006, where he enjoyed playing outside with his friends in the neighborhood. He attended Lopez Middle School, where he was widely respected by his teachers, well liked by his friends, and a member of the track and football teams. He especially enjoyed his math and computer classes. He received a Panther Pride Award for going out of his way to lead others to success in understanding mathematics.

When he was 10, he moved to Japan for a year-and-a-half to attend a Japanese boarding school. During his time in Japan, he enjoyed skiing and became so fluent in speaking Japanese that he won an award in a language contest against native Japanese speakers.

In his free time, Andrew enjoyed playing video games, building with Legos, working on computers, swimming, and playing outside with friends. He was a big fan of Star Wars movies and the TV show Mythbusters. He was an incredible helper to his mother Tomoko, and he admired and loved his older brothers Takumi and Akira. He will be remembered by friends and family as a kind and gentle person with a quirky sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother Tomoko and his brothers Takumi and Akira of San Antonio, and Stuart, of Orlando, Florida; his father Marty, of Germany; his grandmother Takako Moriyama, his aunt Yoko Kanbara, his uncle Naoki Maruyama, and several cousins in Japan; and his aunt Judy Eurey and uncle Gerald Hilton, and cousin Amanda Surratt, of North Carolina.

Family is receiving friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018, for a Celebration of Life at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Andrew’s favorite Krispy Kreme donuts will be served and members of the Lopez Middle School Orchestra will perform in his honor. Students from the school are asked to wear their Lopez shirts and will be provided with flowers to honor Andrew.

The Hilton Family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of generosity and love they have received from the community.
