Hillsborough Fire Response Dinner
Donation protected
Welcome,
As a very warm and heartfelt "Thank You" to those who responded to the devastating fire that took over the old military depot in Hillsborough New Jersey on Thursday, February 11th, 2016 my company, Charity Events Group and I would like to hold a dinner night.
Charity Events Group is a company I started that designs and plans events for non-profit organizations. I feel as if this event would help bring a little spirit and love back into the hearts of many after this horrific event took place.
We will never have all the words to say "thank you" but we hope in some way by bringing in the countless people who helped keep this fire under control, we can share a night of great food, music, and friendships.
Without these brave men and woman, we could have lost so much more. As a young man who has an uncle that worked at this facility for many years, I know first-hand how devastating it can be to lose so much in the blink of an eye.
We would like to have funds raised by the end of March, or early April, and set a dinner date for the first weekend in April or during month of May.
We would be using funds raised from this campaign to help cover some of the costs for this event. However, I will be using money from my own pocket to cover costs as well.
We have booked a venue located at the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post 2290-Manville, 600 Washington Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835. The dinner will be held on Saturday, April, 2nd, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
A Little About Me:
I have planned events for the Ronald McDonald House of Central & Northern New Jersey for two years now. I am currently working on an event for Delbarton School for next month. I have worked with many businesses around the area for many years, such as RPD Executive Coach, Cannone & Company Accounting, and many more.
In regards to funds:
I will be providing a detailed copy of where all funds have been spent. Charity Events Group nor myself will be making ANY profit off of this fundraiser event. All funds will be used for the dinner and/or donated to a fire charity.
I have currently been in contact with the Hillsborough Mayor's office and I am awaiting a reply on when I can meet with Mayor DelCore. I will keep you posted on that meeting as time goes on.
As of today, the following people will be attending the event and making speeches:
New Jersey State Senator Bateman
Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker
Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli
Hillsborough Fire District Commissioner Bruce Vatter
Hillsborough Fire District Commissioner John Catrombon Jr.
Hillsborough Fire District Commissioner Patrick Buckley
Hillsborough Mayor Frank DelCore
Millstone Mayor Raymond Heck
Manville Mayor Richard Onderko
Help offer a small token of our gratitude to each of these brave souls, by offering them a night where they can relax and have great food with great people who just want to say "Thank You"!
Sincerely,
Derek R. Basista
