Hill-Moretti Family Fire Fund
Donation protected
Last Saturday night, in a matter of seconds, this family lost their home and livelhood. The lives of Katherine, Marco and their son Lorenzo were abrupt upended. Fire broke out above, sprinklers kicked in, firetrucks arrived, and as the building was saved the place they had rented for the last 20 year was destroyed.
They had became collateral damage. In a matter of seconds several thousand gallons of water crashed through the ceiling inundating their live&work space: everything from clothing to appliances and documents, books, food, computers - almost everything got doused in brownish foul putrid water. ...All of what they needed as tools of trade as graphic designers - either shot or destroyed, unusable and soon to be a health hazard.
While this building was insured, the family's insurance had lapsed. They are now camping out at friends' places, surviving on a day to day basis. They are in dire need to immediate help.
They need:
-- $ to purchase new mattresses and covers, tables, clothing
-- Computers, monitors, printer etc. backup drives
-- Volunteers to clean the walls, ceiling and floor and help throwing out stuff before mold develops
"” A place to stay and/or a place to temporarily work
The goal is to rehabilitate the space as soon as possible so they can move back and and start rebuilding their lives.
EVERY PENNY COUNTS - BUT ALSO COMPUTERS/ MONITORS, A TEMP PLACE TO STAY AND VOLUNTEERS WOULD HELP.

Mold growing inside one of the computers.
Almost all electronics and work equipment destroyed by water.
Alot of furniture is being thrown out.
Considerable damage to ceiling, walls and floor.
Hundreds of Art and Design books and tons of paperwork are too wet to salvage.
