Hiking for Habitats

Tax deductible
Join me in making a difference?
I’m hiking 70 miles of the Appalachian Trail, through the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, with a goal to raise awareness for the thing closest to my heart, which is Climate Change, and Habitat Conservation.

My goal is to raise $100 for The Nature Conservancy.
They are a non-profit organization of scientists who operate in all 50 states, and 76 different countries, working to conserve land, water, and biodiversity.

All donations will go directly to The Nature Conservancy, and any support will make a difference.

For the last 10,000 years, carbon dioxide in our atmosphere has stayed reliably between 180- 280ppm.
In the 1930’s there was 66% of the world’s wilderness left, at 280ppm of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Today in 2022, there is 35% of the world’s wilderness left, and 419ppm of carbon dioxide.

At such a rate of change, the Holocene period, in which we have existed since the last ice age, is being eclipsed by the Anthropocene, a sixth mass extinction on Earth and the first to be caused by a species—humans.

Please consider supporting, and educating yourself on the efforts to control and end climate.
