Highland Arts is embarking on its most ambitious program yet. We have a fantastic team of designers and instructors and no shortage of motivation, We will serve more members and please more and larger audiences than ever before. The drum corps creates indelible memories and lasting friendships that will sustain young and young-minded performers for years to come. Ours is meaningful work, but it is not without challenges.
A volatile financial market, a lack of regard for the arts, and rising expenses make growth difficult. Rehearsal space, equipment, gasoline, and insurance costs rise each year. The Highland Twenty initiative, H20, will counter these challenges and provide equipment and operating capital for the coming season and beyond.
Highland Twenty aims to raise $20,000 to purchase additional instruments, a second trailer, and electronic equipment that will allow our members to compete with other groups. It will also allow us to maintain a policy never to turn away a willing member due to financial hardship. Highland Arts programs are for all to take part, and they will do so sure in the knowledge that they are second to none!
With your help, programs will grow and members will succeed in reaching their goals. With your help, more programs will take shape in coming seasons. An indoor color guard and percussion program, a theater and improvisation group, and a bagpipe band are all in the early stages.
